The drawings made in the studio are part of the first approach in his process of constructing narratives that end up being represented, repeated and altered over space and time. They are therefore memory images, copies of images he has collected, or even collages and joins of the two, through layers of process, adjustments, corrections or setbacks. Collage forms a large part of this first, and often final, working process.
